LAST DAY OF THE CHAMPIONSHIPS

For the first time since 1996, Norwegian student sports has hosted a World Championship on Norwegian soil – and what a Championship it has been! We concluded the splendid championship with the final sporting activities on Sunday.

Mixed team, relay

The first of three competitions on the agenda of the final day, was the mixed team relay. Every nation put forth their best selection of men and women, and crossed their fingers for a finish on the podium. Finishing at the top was Czech Republic, followed closly by Poland and Spain in second and third.

Womens, mass start

After finishing of the first and last mixed race, we got to enjoy the women’s mass start. It was bound to get tense, and what a race we got! In first place came Hana Noake from Japan with an finishing time of 10:48.80.

Mens, mass start

The men’s mass start didn’t only conclude today’s competitions, but also the entire championship. As with the women’s mass start, we got treated with fastpaced racing. Manuel Taibo from Spain ended up being the winner with a time of 08:38.30.

After the skates were taken off, it was time to prepare for the concluding ceremony of the championship. Every nation was represented with their flag, and it was truly a sight to behold. Take a look at the pictures below!
